Check-in times:

Passengers must check in at least 45 minutes before departure. If you are checking in with a pet, you must arrive at least 90 minutes before departure.

Foot passenger disembarkation

Disembarkation from the ship for foot passengers is through the garage and may only start 30 minutes after arrival. We advise allowing extra time for any onward connections you may need upon arrival.

Take the N13 to Caen and the D901 to Cherbourg. Once in Cherbourg, it is easy to find the port, which is clearly signposted.

Taxis are generally available at the terminal when the ship arrives. If there are none, our staff at the information desk will be happy to book one for you. It will cost approximately 8-10€ to get into Cherbourg town centre (5 minutes).

The SNCF train station in Cherbourg offers regular services to Caen, Rouen, París St Lazare (vía Caen) and Rennes (vía Lison). The station is in the city centre and is located 10 minutes by taxi from the ferry terminal or 50 minutes on foot.

For more information about SNCF train services, call 0033 (0)8 36 35 35 35 or 0033 (0)8 92 35 35 35.

If you wish to walk, it takes approximately 20-30 minutes to the town centre and 50 minutes to the train station from the terminal.

There is a shuttle service between the ferry terminal and the SNCF train station. This shuttle is available every day. It leaves the ferry terminal 1 hour after the ferry arrives and leaves Cherbourg station 2 hours before the ferry departs. Tickets cost €1.50. You can buy it from the driver in cash only (notes under €20) or by credit card/smartphone/connected watch directly on the bus ticket machine.

From June the 30 to August the 31 2025, Monday through Saturday, the CAPCOTENTIN shuttle bus service between the Cherbourg ferry terminal and the SNCF train station will be operated by bus line no. 8. The "TERMINAL FERRY" stop for bus no. 8 is now located right in front of the maritime terminal.

The timetable is fixed and available on the CAPCOTENTIN app or online at: https://www.capcotentin.fr

IMPORTANT: On Sundays and public holidays, the shuttle will pick up passengers 1 hour after the ferry’s arrival at the car-ferry terminal and 2 hours before the ferry’s departure from the train station.
