The friendly Best Western Plus Vannes Centre Ville hotel is just a short walk from the centre of historic Vannes and its harbour where small boat trips operate around the Gulf of Morbihan and its many tiny islands. The well appointed accommodation is contemporary and stylish whilst air conditioned bedrooms all have king size beds and mostly a shower as opposed to a bath. Additionally there is a gym and sauna, plus a good evening restaurant (closed 1-11 Nov & Sun) where the menus feature traditional fare and regional dishes. There is also summer terrace where guests can sit and have an aperitif or dine if the weather permits. Pet accepted 9€/night. Hotel parking (limited) 12€/night.

The historic walled town of Vannes stays lively year round and has plenty to offer visitors including riverside gardens, several interesting museums and atmospheric cobbled streets with attractive half timbered buildings clustered around the 13th century cathedral. It is especially magical at night when floodlit. South of the town centre you'll find the Parc du Golfe from where you can take a boat trip around the Gulf of Morbihan and its unspoilt islands. There are also plenty of places to stop and have a drink or something to eat before perhaps heading to the Conleau peninsula (5km) which is a lovely place for walks or cycling and the gardens are a great place for a picnic. There is also a small beach and a huge outdoor sea water swimming pool. Parking is not easy in summer but bus services run regularly from town.
