Soho Boutique Salamanca - New for 2025 4*

The Soho Boutique hotel is in a popular location right next to the vibrant Plaza Mayor (main square) in the heart Salamanca's historical centre so you could not be better placed to explore this lovely city and its main attractions. The stylish accommodation is comfortable, bedrooms are well equipped and a good buffet breakfast is available each morning. The hotel does not have its own restaurant but there is a wide selection within walking distance. Tours and activities can be booked via reception. The lovely city of Salamanca is built with golden stone and has been described as the Oxford of Spain. Its university was founded in 1215 and has a respected reputation for language programmes with many young students from abroad choosing to study Spanish here. Many visitors to the university spend time searching for the frog sculpted into the façade which is not easy to find, but if successful without help, it is said that good luck and even marriage will fall upon you within the year.

There are so many things of interest to see here which include the Plaza Mayor, Spain's grandest square and a great place to sit and relax at one of the outdoor café bars whilst watching the world go by; the Casa de la Conchas, a richly decorated house of shells, various cathedrals, churches and convents, far too numerous to mention, and there are also several good museums worth taking the time out to visit. Guided tours are available and there is also a little tourist train that does a circuit around the old quarter.
