If you'd like to play a round of golf or two somewhere different but still close to home, then why not choose a golfing break in Brittany or Normandy. Simply pack all you need in the car and sail across to France to enjoy a game at an excellent course specially selected by us - all within an easy drive from our arrival ports. Our chosen courses suit most abilities and are surprisingly uncrowded and welcoming to visiting golfers.

Hotel Mercure Bord de Mer ****
The stylish Hotel Mercure Roscoff Bord de Mer is in a great location in the village square and it has a chic interior with attractive bedrooms. There are great sea views from the breakfast room and lounge where you can watch the fishing and pleasure boats pass by at high tide.
About the course
This 9-hole course at the Baie de Morlaix in lovely château grounds offers a unique stroll in a wooded area by the coast. Designed with all skill levels in mind it is great fun to play with friends or family.

Hotel Mercure Omaha Beach ****
The Hotel Mercure Omaha Beach is just 1.2km from the appealing fishing port of Port en Bessin that nestles between cliffs and is noted for its scallops. For those who like to relax, the hotel also has a wellbeing centre with a small gym, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room (charges apply).
About the course
In a spectacular setting above the Omaha Landing Beach with fantastic views, the two superb 18 hole courses Golf Club Manoir and Mer at offer a rich variety of golf and a wealth of history and culture.

Hotel de l'Univers ***
On a bustling square in the old walled town overlooking the picturesque Château de St Malo is the traditionally furnished and cosy Hotel de l'Univers. The bar, which is well known locally, has a good old British nautical feel and has a comfortable extended terrace.
About the course
Located between St Malo and Combourg, Golf Club des Ormes is set in a beautiful 370 acre estate with mature woodland and delightful lakes. The club house was originally a farm building and oozes character.

Golf Club des Ormes
Located between St Malo and Combourg, Les Ormes is set in a beautiful 370 acre estate. The course cuts through mature woodland, with pretty flowerbeds and delightful lakes adding a sense of style in keeping with the setting. The club house was originally a farm building and oozes character.

St Malo Golf Resort
Set in the ancient hunting grounds of Mesnil Forest, this course is the largest in Brittany, covering nearly 250 acres. From the first hole to the last this is amongst the very finest of the new generation of French golf courses and it's only half an hour from the ferry terminal at St Malo. There is also a good on-site hotel, restaurant and bar.

Golf de la Baie de Morlaix
Designed by Martin Hawtree, a reference in golf course architecture and renovation, this 9-hole course at the Baie de Morlaix golf course invites you to take a unique stroll between the wooded area around the châteaux of Kermenguy and Kerdavid and the coast. This course is great fun to play with friends or family with all skill levels, plus the added bonus of never losing sight of the sea!

Golf Barrièrre de Deauville
Opened in 1929 on the heights of Mont-Canisy a few minutes from the town centre, the Golf Barrière Deauville covers 70 hectares and is renowned as one of the most beautiful golf courses in France. Magnificently maintained and offering numerous views over the sea and countryside, this is a genuine championship golf course that has in the past played host to highly popular events including the Open de France.

Omaha Beach Club Manoir
This new American style course in Port en Bessin has incorporated the original 9 hole L'Etang with 9 new exciting holes which play towards the Manoir Gerard. The course offers some spectacular water hazards and the rolling terrain helps complete a superb layout with fantastic views.

Omaha Beach Club Mer
With a combination of four very different nine hole loops, there's a rich variety of golf at Omaha Beach and a wealth of history and culture. La Mer has holes named after Second World War figures including Churchill and Eisenhower. There are spectacular views of the D-Day landing beaches and a poignant memorial near the gun emplacements at the back of the sixth green.

Golf Barrière de St Julien
Close to Pont l'Evêque, in a superb setting, this traditional, open style course winds through lush Normandy pastures in one of France's most beautiful regions. Ponds and lakes make for good water hazards and well placed bunkers are there to catch the wayward. The 9 hole is a good test for beginners and mid-handicappers whilst the 18 hole will suit players of all levels.

Golf de Granville
Golf de Granville in Bréville sur Mer is a true links course renowned for its superb greens and offers sensational views across to the Channel Islands. Running along the coast, the sea breeze allows it to be played at all times and offers a good game over undulating fairways. As an added bonus, it's also on the Bay of Mont St Michel so one of France's most popular tourist destinations is only an hour's drive away.
