HIGHLIGHTS

The most lush and fertile part of Spain, País Valencià is more than just the tourist spots of Alicante and the Balearic Islands situated just of its coast - here you'll find secluded beaches and pretty hill-top villages but also the hustle and bustle of the vibrant city of Valencia, the birth-place of that great Spanish dish, paella.

Well away from the bustle of Benidorm and Alicante, this is the Costa Blanca that you haven't discovered. Here you'll find yourself in the most lush and fertile part of Spain, with orange, lemon and peach groves, and even rice fields irrigated by systems devised by the Moors. You can also explore the verdant forests of the Sierra Calderona and visit the marine reserves of the Columbretes Islands.

With over 500km of coastline, you can enjoy deserted and clean sandy beaches with crystal clear waters that are perfect for snorkelling, water-skiing, kayaking and many other water sports.

Gastronomy here is very much devoted to fresh local fish and seafood caught off the coast, and be sure to taste some paella in its hometown of Valencia, the País Valencià capital. This historic city is also renowned for its oranges, and the region also has some great wines grown further inland to accompany its delicious cuisine.

The warm mediterranean climate, wonderful food and drink, and a wealth of beaches and nature to explore mean that will you find plenty to see and do in País Valencià.
