Originally a printing works, the Hotel Mercure Parlement is on a quiet street in the heart of the city centre so is an excellent choice when visiting Rennes. Brittany's capital, Rennes, is known as a city of art and history and is ideal for a break at any time of year. It is also a university city so there is plenty to see and do including a lovely old quarter with its half timbered houses, the impressive parliament building plus several excellent museums well worth a visit. There are also good shopping opportunities and Rennes is home to one of the largest Saturday morning markets in the region. For relaxation the beautiful Thabor gardens provide a couple of hours' peace and tranquility after which you can explore the many restaurants and bars available in town. And, if you have any energy left at the end of the day, the nightlife here is atmospheric.
