The resort of Quinta do Lago, 20 minutes west of Faro, is without doubt one of the most exclusive areas of the Algarve and is a unique destination where magnificent golf courses and villas blend in with umbrella pines, lakes and wildlife.

The fabulous Lakeside Country Club is a beautifully maintained gated complex of 51 apartments and 6 villas. There is an indoor pool, sauna, jacuzzi and Turkish bath plus a small well equipped gym - all free to our clients. Electric bikes can also be hired which is a great way to get around.

There is also table tennis, table football and a pool table plus a lovely restaurant that opens for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A pleasant 700m walk takes you to one of the lakes where you’ll find another one or two bar/restaurants as well as a man-made beach with parasols and pedaloes.

The fully equipped stylish apartments are very spacious and attractively furnished to a very high standard. Split between 5 blocks, they can be ground or 1st floor but all are accessed by steps. They have heating/air conditioning and all bathrooms have underfloor heating. Free parking. Free Wi-Fi. Weekly cleaning and linen/towel change. Pets accepted (max 2) on request, free of charge. Deposit payable by credit card on arrival.

Quinta do lago

Bordering the internationally acclaimed Ria Formosa nature reserve, an important resting place for many rare species of migrating birds, Quinta do Lago places a great emphasis on eco-tourism and with a year-round temperate climate, many of the rich and famous own homes here.

It is also a premium golf destination with its 4 courses rated amongst the top 25 in Europe and has hosted several Portuguese Opens whilst continuing to be the venue for many national and international tournaments.

The resort is basically just one road with different complexes linked by roundabouts and with no public transport, a car is essential. The nearby upmarket Quinta Shopping Centre (3k) has designer stores, cafes & restaurants plus a big supermarket. Alternatively Almancil, the nearest town with all amenities, is 8k.

Sporting activities include horse riding, tennis, clay pigeon shooting, deep water fishing and practically every kind of watersport you can imagine. There is also a long sandy beach with magnificent sand dunes reached by crossing a long wooden walkway over the Ria and the general area is great for walking, jogging and cycling with 2 nature trails. Lots of excellent restaurants are dotted around too.

It has lots to see and do including many first class beaches and a rich interesting heritage as well as world renowned golf courses. And, even though it is heavily developed in places, away from the coast there are plenty of picturesque towns and villages to explore where daily life has hardly changed and commercialism doesn't exist.
