La Menerie

This charming little house is in large grounds together with another gite and the hospitable owners' own home. It’s a lovely spot in a quiet, secluded setting on the edge of the vast Cheverny forest – great for walks and cycling - and there’s a goose and goats on site as well as other wildlife. Guests also have use of a lake for fishing and a tennis court.

Lovely living room with fireplace, tv and kitchenette with fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine plus conservatory dining area with large windows overlooking the grounds. Shower. Wc. Open tread stairs to a spacious triple bedroom with double and single bed. Electric heaters. Shared grounds with furniture, swings and bbq. Tennis court.

Perch, roach and carp can be fished in the lake without a permit all year round. The small town of Contres is a short drive (5km) for all amenities and Cherveny château, said to be the most beautifully furnished of all the Loire châteaux, is only 3km. The feeding of the hounds at 11.30am is particularly popular as is the Tintin exhibit and the garden maze. A little further afield, Beauval zoo (26km) has one of the largest animal collections in Europe and is well worth a visit.
