Excellently located In the city centre, the 19th century Palacio de Pombo has recently been converted into a luxury 4 star hotel that is traditional in style and beautifully furnished. Within the main shopping area and close to the town hall, its modern facilities include comfortable lounges, a cafeteria/bar and well equipped, comfortable bedrooms. There is underground public parking just opposite and although the hotel does not have a restaurant, its central location means there is a wealth of choice within easy walking distance. The Botin exhibition centre and Santander's beautiful bay are also easily reached from here. Small dog accepted 30€/night.

For those travelling without a car the ferry terminal is a 400m walk or a short taxi ride away.

From the moment you arrive in Santander it's hard not to be impressed with the beauty of this coastal city with its elegant architecture, landscaped gardens, lively atmosphere and long sandy beaches. During the last 2 weeks of July Santander holds its Semana Grande - a week of celebration with shows, activities, concerts and fireworks (chupinazo) that take place at different points at different times all over the city. It's a fabulous few days of fun for locals and visitors alike. And if you are lucky enough to be here in September, don't miss the Fair of the Nations at the football stadium where a variety of restaurants and shops from countries come together and offer a wide range of their local gastronomy and products.
