Hotel Chiqui 3*

At the end of the lovely seafront promenade and just across the road from the Sardinero beach, the Hotel Chiqui is an absolute favourite with our customers and staff alike who regularly return. It is in a perfect spot, particularly for those who like a morning swim or run but ideal for a leisurely break too, especially as it has its own infinity pool (June-Sept). Garage parking approx. 18-24€/night depending on the size of the car.

No need to take a car to enjoy a stay here with the ferry terminal just a taxi ride away or you can catch a bus outside the post office 200m from the port.

Just down the road there are places to eat and drink, and buses run regularly into the bustling city centre (about 10 mins) when you fancy a change of scene. For anyone who likes walking, there is a lovely pedestrian path close to the hotel which takes you northwards, past the Mataleñas gardens, round the golf course and alongside the beautiful Mataleñas beach as far as the lighthouse or, alternatively, you can follow the path south to the Magdalena Peninsula and beyond passing the Sardinero beach and Piquio gardens.

During the last 2 weeks of July Santander holds its Semana Grande - a week of celebration with shows, activities, concerts and fireworks (chupinazo)that take place at different points at different times all over the city. It's a fabulous few days of fun for locals and visitors alike. And if you are lucky enough to be here in September, don't miss the Fair of the Nations at the local football stadium where a variety of restaurants and shops from different countries come together and offer a wide range of their local gastronomy and products.
