On 2 February 2024, the highlight of the European rugby union tournament calendar kicks off again with France and Ireland playing against each other on French soil. It promises to contain all the drama and excitement you have come to expect from the northern hemisphere's premier rugby union competition.
Once again France, England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Italy will contest for the trophy. If a team wins all its matches it wins the tournament outright. The side finishing last is left with the wooden spoon.
In 2024, the opener will see France play the 2023 champions, Ireland, at home at the Stade Velodrome in Marseilles. France will be hosting three matches including the last match of the tournament where they will play England at the Parc Lyonnais in Lyon. They will also play Italy at Lille's Stade Pierre-Mauroy.
The Stade de France and Parc de Princes will be making preparations for another sporting event - the biggest sports event in the world.
